Barcelona Legend Fabregas Signs for Premier League Team
Barcelona legend, Cesc Fabregas has signed for the Premier League side, Arsenal, in a move that will see him join forces with former teammate, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The transfer was confirmed by both clubs on Monday evening.
The 31-year-old midfielder, who won two UEFA Champions League titles with Barcelona, is set to make his debut against West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
Aubameyang, who joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund last summer, is also expected to feature in the match, as he looks to build on his impressive form during the season so far.
Both players have been linked with moves away from their respective clubs and this move is seen as a sign of their commitment to the club and their desire to compete for major honours.
In a statement released by Arsenal, they said: "We are delighted to announce the signing of Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona. He is a world-class player who brings experience and quality to our squad."
Fabregas' arrival at Arsenal could be a boost for the team, who currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
He joins a list of high-profile signings made by Arsenal in recent years, including Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
This move is likely to have an impact on other Premier League teams, especially those in the top four, who will be keen to keep up with Arsenal's pace.
It remains to be seen how Fabregas performs in his new role, but it seems like he'll be a valuable addition to the team, helping them challenge for major honours.
